Fences is basically an easier version of Tasker, or at least certain aspects of it. Set up profiles, like, say, silent for church or the local movie theater, then set a specific area on the map to activate it. Bingo: you've made a geo-fence. The app has a huge amount of settings and toggles, and it's possible to adjust the GPS polling rate to spare your battery as well.
